JOIN US IN CALGARY, CANADA FOR
XVI IPC - XII IOPC 2028
Welcome to XVI IPC - XIII IOPC 2028
On behalf of the International Organisation of Palaeobotany and the International Federation of Palynological Societies, we are pleased to invite you to the XVI International Palynological Congress and XII International Organisation of Palaeobotany Conference, taking place August 7-11, 2028, at the Calgary TELUS Convention Centre in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
XVI IPC – XII IOPC will offer a thought-provoking atmosphere, with a format designed to encourage connection and foster collaboration. Paleobotanists and palynologists from around the world – working in academia, government, non-governmental organizations, and industry – will gather to present and discuss current research.
Calgary combines striking scenery, rich culture, and remarkable geology shaped by its glacial past, seen in rolling hills and river valleys, Paleocene beds beneath the city that preserve abundant plant fossils visible along the Bow and Elbow Rivers. Positioned where the mountains meet the prairies, Calgary serves as a gateway to many of Alberta’s most significant natural sites, including the Royal Tyrrell Museum, Dinosaur Provincial Park, Banff National Park, numerous fossil plant localities, and a record of life surrounding the K–Pg extinction event, all within a short drive.
We look forward to welcoming you to XVI IPC – XII IOPC in Calgary in 2028!
